The Buffer Bandwidth Amplifier is a continuously active utility pedal that enhances your signal-to-noise ratio, delivering consistent tone and clarity in any configuration while filtering out unwanted subsonic and ultrasonic frequencies. Designed for transparency, the BBA captures and preserves your natural tone. Whether you’re using an extensive pedal board or connecting directly to the amp, the BBA ensures consistent impedance for your pickups, preventing high-end loss from long cable lengths and unexpected loading from switching pedals on and off. It reliably feeds your signal into a range of devices, including pedals, preamps, DI boxes, amplifiers, mixers, and recording interfaces.

Additionally, the BBA offers ultra-low noise gain, adjustable from 0 dB (unity) to +20 dB, providing clean amplification. For some pickups, this boost can elevate your signal to line level for studio equipment or add extra volume as needed. Positioning the BBA first in your signal chain can significantly improve your signal-to-noise ratio. The BBA also optimizes bandwidth by filtering out extreme frequencies outside the human hearing range while maintaining your tone.

Equipped with a high-quality Burr Brown opamp, the BBA delivers superior audio performance and noise rejection. Its power circuitry ensures clean DC voltage, filtering high-frequency noise from power supplies. The BBA requires a DC supply (not included), with a voltage range of 9V to 24V. A 9V supply offers adequate headroom for instrument-level signals, while higher voltages are recommended for stronger signals to provide more headroom. The BBA draws 10mA and uses a boss-style, 2.1mm barrel connector with center-negative polarity. A 24V power supply can be purchased separately
